These courses are aimed at commercial flying schools. Theoretical knowledge instruction (TKI) has had a tendency to become a ´secondary activity´at flying schools with students increasingly relying on 'question banking' to memorise the ATPL question bank. This in turn has led to airlines complaining that students are coming through the system with good ATPL grades but a limited undesrtanding of the theory. Academic Aviation offers courses taught by a dedicated TK instructor who has 35 years teaching experience at Universities, 12 years experience teaching ATPL subjects at commercial flight schools and is a commercial pilot. He has also published a book on aircraft avionics [ISBN: 1119259541] and can 'dive deep' into the topics. Each course lasts seven, 7-hour days including revision and a mock test thus the students can be assessed immediately as to whether they are ready for the authority exams. This means that full module can be left entirely to Academic Aviation without having to pull a pilot off the flight line.
